Letter #60

Well, transfer calls came Saturday night, and I am going to be leaving Aberdeen and going to Poulsbo.  We don't actually move until tomorrow, so today's my last full day in Gray's Harbor.  My new companion is going to be Elder Jameson, who I do not know at all, but I've heard from 1 person that he's pretty great.  So we'll see.
This week wasn't all that eventful again.  We didn't have the car again, so we did a lot of bus riding, and met some pretty great people.  One of them let me know that we are descended from aliens, which is why we are like animals but not animals, and that the only valid part of the bible is the ten commandments.  Thanks random bus person.
And it's been pretty rainy this week.  So that's cool, I guess.
We also knocked on a lot of people's doors, and I tried to talk to a couple people in Spanish, but luckily we were actually with some Spanish elders who could do all the hard parts.
Well, I'm almost out of time already, but Mother's Day is in 2 weeks, so I'm super exciting to call home again!  Sorry this email is so short... Next one will be better, because I'll have a brand new place to talk about. Bye

Letter #59

Well, this week was pretty busy.  It was our week with the car, so basically we spent the entire time trying to meet as many people as we could that we missed or found the week before.  Which was kinda a lot of people.
Oh yeah, and 4/20 day is actually not interesting in Washington, by the way.  It's actually just like every other day of the year.  Also, transfers are coming up this next week, so that's also kinda crazy.  We'll get transfer calls on Saturday, so we will know then if we are going or staying.
Well, this week was our temple trip, so that was really cool.  It was the only time out of the year that we get to go, so that was way exciting.  I guess there are 2 new temple videos since the last time I went, and I have no idea if I saw the better one or not, because I don't know what the other one was.  Sorry mom.  Anyway, we basically got up at 4:30 that morning, drove up to Seattle, and then got back into Aberdeen at about 8:00 that night.  That was a long day.
Anyway, we also had our Stake conference this week.  There were a lot of big changes in our ward, because our bishop became the new councilor in the stake presidency, and our EQP is now a councilor to our new bishop, so it was really interesting to see the changes in our ward.  President Weaver came out for conference, and we had a fun little time.  In fact, the Saturday night session was super informal.  Almost uncomfortably so.  But we had a good time with that.  After conference, President Weaver said that the ward here really likes us, and whatever we're doing to make them like us, keep doing it.
Easter was not that exciting.  I kinda forgot that it was happening, and that people were easter egg hunting and such on that day.  I loved my Easter package :)  and we actually got to paint easter eggs with a part member family on Friday night, but that was about the extent of our festivities.
Okay, and I actually have more stuff to say today, but my time is cut super short, so I'm going to just be done now.  Love you all :)  Bye

Letter #58

This week was actually super sunny.  Which was super nice, since we didn't have a car like usual this week.  And everyone wanted us to do service as well.  We always offer, but usually no one takes us up on it.  On Wednesday, we got to help someone plant a community garden in their front yard.  They just needed help taking all the grass out of their yard first, actually.  So they went through with a sod cutter the day before, and we got to pull it all up and move it to their back yard.  So that was fun or whatever.  And then we also helped someone mow a lawn, which was great.
We also went on exchanges this week, which means that we both stayed in Aberdeen, but switched companions for a day.  So not too exciting.  I just got to hear  a different set of stories than normal.
Oh yeah, we also got bus passes last week, which made this last week a little better.  The bus system is a little faster than walking, but not too much. You don't get as tired though.  And you are supposed to meet pretty interesting people on the bus, but it turns out that the bus is just empty most of the time...  Also, the bus doesn't run on weekends, and sometimes you have to know routes different that they are posted, but besides that, the bus thing has worked pretty great.
Well, our annual temple trip for the mission is tomorrow, and we have stake conference this weekend, so this next week should be pretty full.  Also, I'm about out of time on the computer, so I'm going to end this now.  Love you all,  bye

Letter #57

Well, this week was pretty great.  We had the car again here, so our Tuesday was about as productive as the entire week that we didn't have the car.  But we bought bus passes this week, so hopefully that works out well for us.
Well, I guess I have to talk about conference as the highlight of the week, but mostly because I ran out of notebook paper after the priesthood session and had to make an emergency trip to Walmart so I could have something to take notes on for Sunday conference.  So I bought a notebook with Taylor Swift on it.  And that was great.  We watched conference at the stake center, which was pretty much empty every session.  We also got to give a couple of blessings on Sunday, which was good.  And we also got fed way too much food.  But that was good too, because I'm never going to have people lining up to be able to feed me meals ever again in my life, so I guess I might as well take advantage of that.
Also, I was sick early this week, so Wednesday and Thursday were pretty slow.
And we ran into our downstairs neighbors like twice this week, which is about two times more than normal weeks.  They're pretty cool.  And they play the piano really well, so that's cool.  It's almost like listening to the radio?  Haha, not really.  But it beats EFY music.
Anyway, I'm pretty much out of time, so I'm going to end this letter now.
