Well,
I don't have a ton of time this week, but I took notes again for what
I'm going to write about, so hopefully we have another pretty good
letter this week.
So
for the last couple of weeks, we have been working really hard to
promote the nativity festival we have here in the Bremerton stake, and I
can't remember if I've talked about this much yet or not, so I'm just
going to talk about it anyway. So the nativity festival is a really
cool event that our stake does every year where they display over 500
nativities, perform Christmas music, have a live nativity, and have
activities for children. And it is a really professional event that
they put on, so it's super exciting to go to. Last year, there were
about 1800 people who went, and our goal for attendance this year is
5000 people, so we have been working to invite as many people as
possible to that. In each ward, we are trying to get an invitation to
every less active member to make sure they all know about it. It has
been quite the undertaking, and it's keeping us pretty busy.
Every
other week, we go to the veteran's home to pass the sacrament to the
members there, and this last Sunday was one of those weeks. I can't
remember if I've talked about this before either, but seeing as it is
Veteran's Day tomorrow, I thought it was worth mentioning again. The
veteran's home is a really great place to go, because the people there
are so nice, and really appreciate us coming over to visit them. We
usually have about 4 members living there come over for the service, and
then about 10 people from our ward to do the music, pass the sacrament,
and speak. We had the Sunday School President come and speak to them
yesterday, and he had a really great talk about staying in boats that
was based off of the conference talk by Elder Ballard. And we had 3
other people who aren't usually there come and visit for part of the
service, so it seemed a lot fuller than normal in our little room. So
that was a great experience.
I
also got to play amateur music composer this week since some of the
missionaries in our district wanted parts for a song that doesn't have
parts that they wanted to sing in transfer meeting. So that was kinda
cool. Oh, and speaking of transfers, those are in 2 weeks.
Well,
this next week, we have mission tour going on, which means we will be
having a member of the seventy come and speak with our mission and be
involved in different parts of the things we do. So we are all really
excited about that over here. My half of the mission gets to meet with
him tomorrow, and the rest of it meets with him on Wednesday.
And
that was my week. I think it looks a lot longer when I double space
the paragraphs like this, so I think I'm always going to do that now.
Well, I love you all! Talk to you later.
